It's clean, has a tasty colour scheme, and achieves everything a blog/portfolio site should.

Who cares if there are a few validation issues? The guy seems to be graphic designer first - obsessive validator second.

A very good design without standards is like a sports car with an broken engine. The layout is cool, the colors work well toghether.
